Justin Tipuric’s dramatic rise from the Welsh Premiership to the international scene with Wales has seen him labelled as one of the most exciting backrow players in world rugby.  His club form with the Ospreys and international displays for his country have led to an exciting duel with Sam Warburton for theNo7 shirt in Wales.
Renowned for his tough tackling, supreme fitness and superb ball handling skills, Tipuric has all the attributes needed for a modern-day backrow specialist. He has been with the Swansea-based Ospreys since U16 level and Tipuric, whose grandfather is Croatian, has represented Wales at every age-grade level.
He was hugely successful at Under 20 level with Wales, making 18 appearances over two seasons and scoring eight tries, six of which came at the 2009 Junior World Championship in Japan. He also starred for the Wales Sevens squad in 2009/10, playing in the Bowl Final in Hong Kong
At club level he made his name in the Welsh Premiership, playing over 40 times for Aberavon in a successful spell with the Wizards. His form with Aberavon helped him break into the Ospreys side in 2010/11 with 27 appearances and two tries, including a fine individual effort against Edinburgh.
A year after making his first start for the Ospreys he made his Wales debut against Argentina in August 2011 for the pre-World Cup warm-up fixture, before gaining his second cap at the Millennium Stadium as a replacement against Australia. He also featured twice in the Grand Slam fixtures of 2012, toured Australia last summer and played all five fixtures of Wales’ successful Six Nations campaign in 2013.
He was named man of the match in Wales’ final game of the campaign when they produced a stunning display against England at the Millennium Stadium to snatch the Six Nations title.
He couples his playing career with some part time coaching at his village club, Trebanos RFC, and has helped them top Division 3 South West in the Welsh league system.
