The Sharks duo of current Springbok outside half Ruan Pienaar and World Cup winning centre Francois Steyn have been working with Australian rugby league legend Andrew Johns in their pre-season training camp.
Considered to be one of the great rugby league half-backs of all-time, Johns was recruited by Sharks coach John Plumtree to work on the decision making of his key duo. Johns played 21 times for the kangaroos, winning two World Cups, and ended his career as the NRL's all-time points scorer with more than 2,000.
John's brief is to improve the decision making process of Pienaar, who was thrust into the Springbok No 10 role on their Autumn tour of the UK with a view to him taking over the job full-time from Butch James.
The Sharks are due to meet the 2009 British & Irish Lions in Durban and Ian McGeechan's men are likely to see a lot more of Pienaar and Steyn in the three Test series.
