Williams was forced to leave a crunching Welsh derby defeat to the Ospreys on New Years Day clutching his shoulder.
But Young played down fears by telling reporters after the match that, "Martyn has struggled throughout the Autumn Test series with a shoulder injury.
"We rested him for two weeks and he just took another bang on it. There is nothing which needs an operation and nothing to be worried about there."
More worrying for Young is the loss of Ben Blair's for the remaining Heineken Cup Pool matches. He suffered a broken hand in the 16-12 Magners League loss will be sidelined for one-month.
"It is a massive blow for us," admitted Young, the Blues coach.
The Blues lead Pool 6 with a 100 per cent record, but with Gloucester also performing well in the competition, the Kingsholm tussle is likely to be a Pool decider, and the Blues know only too well the cost of coming second in the group stage.
