Bulloch is still involved in the game as a player as he is currently captaining the West of Scotland.

Alongside ex-STV chief executive Donald Emslie, he replaces Sale Sharks' owner Brian Kennedy and Graeme Miller as a non-executive director, joining current incumbents Jock Millican and Allan Munro.

"I think it's important to put something back into the game that has given me so much," said Bulloch who previously played his rugby with Glasgow and Leeds.

"I have knowledge from the professional game in both Scotland and England and I'm eager to start working with my colleagues on the Board to help to take Scottish Rugby forward."
