Since making his regional debut for the Ospreys in 2004, Hook has been widely regarded as a potential future Lion and the former Aberavon Quin and Corus RFC star hopes that his dream turns into reality in May next year.
"I have thought about it and I would love to go on a Lions tour," says Hook, who will be looking to help the Ospreys build on last season's EDF Energy Cup triumph.
"It would be silly to say we don't realise the Lions tour is at the end of the season but there's a lot of games to go before then. It would be a dream. But a year is a long time in rugby and hopefully I can have a good season and do enough.
"It will help us that we've been to South Africa recently. I can remember the first Test against Australia in 2001 when Jason Robinson scored - that's my biggest memory - and I think we have to forget the last tour."
