The Reds have signed Turinui in a bid to strengthen their backline after a miserable 2007 Super 14 campaign that saw the franchise finish bottom of the pile.
Chris Siale will also make his Reds debut against the Blues alongside Turinui at inside centre.
Queensland captain John Roe has been given another week to recover from a shoulder reconstruction, meaning Sam Cordingley will lead the side.
Full-back Chris Latham, fly-half Berrick Barnes, flanker Hugh McMeniman, prop Greg Holmes and hookers Stephen Moore and Sean Hardman will also feature.
Coach Phil Mooney has included three Academy players in his squad - prop Dayna Edwards, backrower Poutasi Luafutu and scrum-half Ben Lucas - after solid performances in the opening trial match against the Waratahs.
"These three guys took their opportunity and hopefully will get another chance on Thursday to demonstrate to the coaching staff that they belong at this level," Mooney said.
"It all contributes to the increased competition for places at the Reds this year, something we haven't always enjoyed in recent seasons."
