Colclough won 25 England caps between 1978 and 1986 and was a member of the Grand Slam-winning team in 1980.
The former Wasps and Swansea second row twice toured with the Lions, playing in all eight Tests in South Africa (1980) and New Zealand (1983).
Lions tour manager Beaumont, a friend and former team-mate of Colclough, said: "Maurice was a powerful and very athletic rugby player who made a massive contribution to the clubs he played for, to his country and to the Lions.
"He had a huge heart and will be greatly missed."
