"It's a great start to the season, especially considering the inexperience of some of our players," he said after the 29-15 victory.
"We went to Wales on a camp during the summer on a team-building and leadership exercise and it was then that the players really decided what they wanted to do.
"They did pinpoint the first six matches and the beauty is that this is player-driven, taking responsibility and not just waiting for players to come back from the World Cup," said Meehan.
The Australian revealed that he had not received any calls from the England camp regarding a possible call-up for full-back Nick Abendanon in the wake of injuries to the World Cup squad.
"I don't know what they are going to do and we have heard nothing on Olly Berkley's injury either."
In the meantime Meehan was just savouring the quality of performance from his two young wingers, Matt Banahan and Jack Cuthbert.
"They didn't put a foot wrong and looked more like guys who have played for four or five seasons than those who were playing their first games," he said.
"They are certainly guys with potential. If they keep their heads down and work hard I would think they could represent their country."
Although it was Cuthbert who made it onto the scoresheet with two tries Meehan did have a word for Banahan.
He said: "He is a guy who last year there were some question marks over but he has adjusted his attitude and come back with gold and his mind intact."
The opening day of the season was a more sobering experience for Worcester's new director of rugby, former Wales coach Mike Ruddock.
He said: "I'm hugely disappointed, hugely frustrated. We made far too many errors and we paid for it.
"We didn't get our game together and we looked like a side between game plans."
He added: "I was worried we might be a little undercooked. We tried to retain what was good about the Worcester game so our set piece was good but the reality in the modern game is that you've got to do something with the ball.
"We were knocking ball on and missing tackles and we didn't do the basics in the first half while Bath played very well, came out of the blocks and scored some nice tries."
