It was by far their best display in this year's RBS 6 Nations Championship because they played well for 80 minutes, something they had not managed in the previous four games. They made a good Ireland team look ordinary. Their game plan was right from start to finish and they made every chance count.
I think this is potentially one of the best England teams ever. They didn't just scrape a win at Lansdowne Road, it was a comprehensive victory. It was important that they were able to subdue the Irish and their vociferous fans early on and they were able to do that. But once in front they were able to pull away.
Jonny Wilkinson was the man of the match but I thought Lawrence Dallaglio, Martin Johnson, Steve Thompson - in fact everyone - played their part in a superb victory. It is difficult to name a man of the series because there were many good performances, but I think Wilkinson must be close. He is just exceptional and punished teams when he had the chance.
I think it's fair to say England stuttered a bit during these championships but it all came right when it mattered.
Now they can turn their attentions to the World Cup in Australia in October. They have gradually improved and hopefully that will continue.
