Scrum-half Ellis has had a solid tournament after breaking into the side at the expense of Matt Dawson, although he still feels he has plenty more to offer.
The 22-year-old Leicester Tigers star is disappointed he will not be able to pit his skills against highly-rated Scottish scrum-half Chris Cusiter.
Cusiter, who like Ellis is just 22, sustained an Achilles injury in the 46-22 humbling by Wales last week and he will miss the Twickenham clash.
"He's been playing really well this season in the games I've seen him play and I was especially impressed with the way he played in the French game," Ellis said of Cusiter.
"The good thing about this competition is that you get to play against quality scrum-halves that you don't normally play against."
