Fitzpatrick, the All Blacks skipper during the 2-1 series victory over the 1993 Lions, believes home advantage will ultimately prove the decisive factor.
"I keep thinking back to 1993. We just won the first Test after Grant Fox kicked a penalty right on full-time," he said.
"We lost the second Test convincingly and we were put under so much pressure in that last week that we had no choice but to win.
"I think the fact the All Blacks are playing at home and the talent they have in the backs, means New Zealand will win 2-1. But it will be close."
