Stuart Hogg has announced himself on the international stage during the RBS 6 Nations and has been tipped for the Lions.
He set the Championship alight with his blistering 90-metre interception try against Italy and matched Rob Kearney, the Lions Test fullback in 2009, during the victory over Ireland.
He will go head-to-head with another Lions contender in Leigh Halfpenny when Scotland host Wales tomorrow but the Glasgow Warriors full-back insists a summer tour is not on his mind.
"Obviously the Lions has been kind of flung in there," said Hogg.
"But as I say every time, I concentrate on each game as it comes. I'm a big believer that what's for you won't go by you, and if it comes it comes. If it doesn't I'll just keep continuing working on my game.
"Leigh is one of the best full backs in the world. He's up there with Israel Dagg and Rob Kearney. He's a fantastic player.
"From a few years ago when he was the same age as me he's progressed to be a world class player. He's really worked hard on his game - his kicking game, his running game, his evasion. You can see he works hard in the gym as well.
"You want to get one up on your opposite number, but it's Scotland versus Wales in a Six Nations match, both teams are sitting in great places in the table now and whoever wins will be right up there as title contenders.
"Hopefully, come Saturday evening, that'll be us."
Hogg made his Test debut in last season's fixture with Wales and was denied a try by the match referee but he is determined to shine in attack once again.
"The referee owes me a try after last year, not Wales necessarily," added Hogg.
"Obviously it would have been ideal to score on debut but it was not to be.
"They will come really hard at us. On a couple of occasions they've been beaten on a line break through them. But if they come flying up then a little bit of footwork might let us in.
"But Wales have got some fantastic players. We've looked at them and they like to play a wide, wide game - and with wingers like George North and Alex Cuthbert and a fullback like Leigh why should they not?
"So our defence needs to be spot on and firing throughout the 80 minutes to shut these boys down at source and not let them get some momentum and get some go-forward. Hopefully we can stop them and make them go into hiding."
