Gcobani Bobo, who played for Western Province against the British & Irish Lions, has joined Newcastle Falcons on a two-year deal.
The 29-year-old former Springbok centre has played at the highest level in South Africa since 2001 with both the Lions and the Stormers. He won six test caps and also played for the South African Sevens side.
"This is an exciting challenge for me. Rugby is a professional sport and opportunities to move abroad will, at some point, present themselves," said Bobo.
