The official Lions app has a song sheet that includes all the usual rugby anthems, many of which were sung in part ahead of kick-off in Brisbane last weekend.
Lions teams down the generations have become used to not having an anthem sung. They stand there and take the best the home fans can throw at them and then got on with the business of winning the test match.
This weekend, following on from the call from Etihad Stadium CEO Paul Sergeant of the Lions fans to sing their hearts out in Melbourne, the challenge is to get the different groups of fans around the ground to join in one song in response to the Aussie anthem.
"The Lions fans, as usual, have been magnificent in their support of the team. The passion and noise in Brisbane, before, during and after the game were magnificent," said Lions tour manager Andy Irvine.
"It was great to hear the Australian players talk about the great atmosphere and they obviously took something out of the 'shoulder to shoulder' approach their fans were urged to take when singing their anthem
"I'm sure they will belt out 'Advance Australia Fair' once again on Saturday night, but the team is confident that the 'Sea of Red' will respond with the 'Lions, Lions' chant and more.
"We'd love to hear Delilah, Fields of Athenry, Swing Low or Flower of Scotland ringing around the ground before and during the game this weekend. We've certainly heard those rugby anthems and more in the streets and pubs on our trip around Australia.
"Just as the players realise there will be a step up in intensity on the field this weekend, I'm sure the Lions fans will take their support up a few decibels. There is a fantastic prize on offer on Saturday night and it will be won by everyone playing their part."
