Now Farrell and co head to Murrayfield to take on Scotland and Farrell revealed that England will be their own worst critics ahead of Saturday's clash.
"It's been a difficult couple of days as far as getting over it because you try to move on but you keep thinking back to the game," said Farrell.
"You know, especially having put in a good performance, you think as long as we perform well, we'll be proud of what we've done.
"But, when you've performed well and still lost the game, it's gutting really.
"Now we've got to move on, we've got to make sure that we take what we can from the game and get better.
"We are going to be critical of ourselves as well - we're not going to sit there and just say how well we've played.
"We're going to make sure we saw why we lost the game and make sure we're better for it."
