Only now is the 25-year-old working his way back to full fitness after suffering a torn pectoral muscle on Wales duty in November.
However, Davies' return coincides with Scarlets' run-in and he has vowed to help secure the Welsh region a spot in Europe next year - even though it could mean lining up against them.
"I would love to see the Scarlets in the top European competition next season, although I would not want to end up in the same group as them. That would be too tough," he said.
"I want to make sure I end my time with the Scarlets on a good note.
"I am a Scarlets fan, I am from the region and I love the region and I want to leave them in a good place for next season.
"If that means finishing sixth to qualify for Europe then I will do everything I can to make it happen. I am sure we can do it."
