It was victory number two for the Bulls at the start of their Super 14 campaign and at one stage they were 26-0 ahead of the stunned Aucklanders. The visitors finally got to grips with the pace of the game and ended with something out of the contest as they grabbed four tries for a bonus point.
Scrum half Fourie du Preez controlled matters superbly for the Bulls to prove he is firmly back in the running for the Springbok No 9 jersey to face the British & Irish Lions in four months time. He also helped himself to a try and there were two for Springbok back row man Pierre Spies.
Outside half Morne Steyn put his hand up for selection for the summer series with a 20 point contribution to the rout of the Kiwis, but he also marshaled his back division well to give South African coach Peter de Villiers something to think about as he examines who should play at No 10.
