Australia suffered a setback in their preparations for the second Test against France on Saturday after Nathan Sharpe picked up a groin injury in training.

The big second-rower broke down during a routine drill in Brisbane today and left the field immediately for treatment as concerned medical staff came to his aid.

Dean Mumm will step into the breach should Sharpe be ruled out of Saturday night's encounter at Suncorp Stadium, while Reds and Australia A flanker Hugh McMeniman has been drafted in as cover.
