Lions coach Ian McGeechan could be without his Wasps centre Dominic Waldouck for up to two months after the 21-year-old damaged the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last weekend.

Waldouck was in impressive form last season as Wasps claimed Guinness Premiership glory but he is now expected to be out of action for between six and eight weeks.

The former Wasps Academy player, who joined the club at the age of 17, was called up to the England squad for the summer tour of New Zealand, although he did not feature in either of the two Tests.

Waldouck has been named in the England Saxons squad for the current season and had played each of his club's six league and cup games so far this season.

Wasps face French Top 14 outfit Castres in the opening round of the Heineken Cup at Adams Park this Sunday, with 2005 Lion Josh Lewsey a possible replacement for Waldouck in the centre.
