The Falcons were left kicking their heels when last week's Guinness Premiership match against Wasps was postponed due to severe winds at Kingston Park but that could have a spin-off at The Rec.
"It was very frustrating not to play last week in front of a full house but what it does mean is that the boys are nice and fresh going into this weekend," said Fletcher.
"They are mad keen to play and they are itching to get stuck in to Bath. You can see it in training every day because it's been getting a bit feisty and hopefully that will translate in to a big performance down at The Rec."
Newcastle have brought in forwards Brent Wilson and Matt Thompson to replace injured duo Andy Perry (ribs) and Andy Long (hand) and there is a place in the starting line-up for loose head prop Jon Golding.
Bath have won the last six matches between the two clubs since Newcastle's 33-18 victory in 2004, the Falcons' only victory at The Rec since 1997.
