Robshaw hopes to represent the Lions
England captain Chris Robshaw admits he is desperate to secure a place on the Lions tour of Australia.
But he reckons representing the Lions is the ultimate and is determined to convince Warren Gatland that he is worthy of selection.
"What player would say no to the Lions? No one in his right mind.
"The Lions are legends and going to Australia is as good as it gets. It is going to be a magnificent tour for all those players lucky enough to be selected.
"Warren is the right man for the job and has all the experience and knowledge you need to do very well as Lions coach.
"His record speaks for itself. He knows what is needed to take a big group of guys to the other side of the world and succeed.
"My job now is to try to convince him I deserve a place on the plane. The ¬captaincy thing is not on my mind."
But Robshaw is well aware that the journey begins at the Stoop and he has to perform on the domestic stage.
"The flanker was irrepressible as Quins marched to the Premiership crown and they have begun the new campaign in fine form with three wins out of three to sit on the top of the table.
"All I can do is try to enjoy more success with Quins, give a hundred and ten per cent and hope for the best," added Robshaw.
"I have to make sure Quins continue to do as well as last season. Then, England have a massive autumn campaign which I hope to be involved in. So there's a lot to look forward to."
