"Most players playing regional rugby at the moment will think they have a chance of going on the Lions tour if they are performing well enough," said the Scarlets backs coach, capped 47-times for Wales.
"There's no doubt we will have Lions - all players in internationals squads are in contention. The Welsh boys are coming out of a championship winning squad, following a World Cup semi-final and have a real chance. They are quality players."
And while Jones admits the majority of players will be thinking about a potential Lions tour at the end of the season he has been impressed with his side's focus.
"The good thing is I've heard nobody talking about it. You can't put the cart in front of the horse. We're not mentioning the L word.
"The boys know they have to focus on regional rugby. If they do that and play well enough hopefully they will be picked for Wales and that will put them in the shop window.
"If they get themselves in good shape for the Scarlets, then people can look at the Lions."
