This promoted the Dragons to bring in reinforcements and looked no further than another British & Irish Lion in Powell, bringing the Welshman back to where he started his career from rugby league side Wigan Warriors.
And while pair will be looking to cement themselves a spot in the Dragons' starting XV, assistant coach Jones is adamant there is plenty of room for them both to flourish at Rodney Parade this season.
"I don't see that being an issue for us. I have been in this situation before when I was at Sale Sharks and we had four or five internationals playing, with some of them in the same position like hooker with England's Andy Titterrell and Sebastien Bruno (France).
"We could not change anything last July, but now we are hoping to improve. It's not right to set targets, but now our performances are going to be a lot better."
