Schalk Burger, the IRB World Player of the year in 2004, will face a disciplinary hearing in Pretoria today after being cited for the alleged eye gouging incident that led to him receiving a yellow card in the first minute of the second Test.

The Springboks back row man was winning his 50th cap, but now faces a possible 12 week ban after being cited by New Zealand's Stephen Hinds for an act "contrary to good sportsmanship by allegedly attacking the eyes of Luke Fitzgerald.
