The Fiji Times claims Serevi, the current player-coach of the country's successful sevens side, has been offered a lucrative financial package to work as backline coach at the Falcons Rugby Union for next year's Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup campaigns.

Tavanavanua said: "There is nothing formal as yet, and if there is one [an approach], it'll be very hard for us to compete."

Serevi was quoted in the Fiji Times as saying that the offer was "a big decision" for him and his family to make and that his "heart was with Fiji rugby and my players".

The Falcons, who finished seventh in this year's domestic competition, are hoping the former Fiji international will be able to help them move forward after his success in leading Fiji to the IRB World Sevens Series title.
