Mike Blair has been withdrawn from the British & Irish Lions replacements bench for the game against Western Province this afternoon.
The Scottish captain suffered a foot injury in training on Friday and the ligament sprain hasn't settled quickly enough for him to play at Newlands.
Shane Williams, who began his career as a scrum half at Amman United, has been called in as his replacement.
