Tom Croft has been sidelined by a dislocated shoulder since March
British & Irish Lions flanker Tom Croft is expected to put a tumultuous battle with injuries behind him and be fit to feature for club side Leicester Tigers when the new season begins in October, director of rugby Richard Cockerill has confirmed.
The 29-year-old has endured several spells on the sidelines in recent years with neck and knee injuries, while he suffered a dislocated shoulder in March.
But Croft, part of the Lions squad that enjoyed a triumphant tour to Australia in 2013, has been fit to play a full part in pre-season training with Leicester.
And Cockerill hopes the end to Croft's problems is in sight.
"Tom has trained and done everything so far," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury.
"I have no issues with him at this point and he should be on target to play in some pre-season games and certainly start the season."
