North Harbour eyeing 2011 final
22 January 2007 11:56am
North Harbour Stadium chiefs have not yet given up hope of hosting the 2011 Rugby World Cup final.
North Harbour Stadium chief executive Brendon O'Connor believes any tangled red tape in the Eden Park project would open up an opportunity for his arena to capitalise.
He told The New Zealand Herald: "It would seem sensible to me to put equal effort into developing opportunities at North Harbour Stadium, we don't have the problems Eden Park has.
"Then the Government could make an informed decision against rational criteria as to which is the best option for 2011 and beyond."
Eden Park's managing board hear the results of planning inquiries later this week.
