Callam to see specialist
27 August 2007 09:42am
Scotland number eight Dave Callam will see a specialist facial surgeon on Monday after the injury that forced him to retire from Saturday's World Cup warm-up loss to South Africa.
Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "He has been seen by an ophthalmologist in Edinburgh today and we will seek a further specialist opinion tomorrow."
Prop Gavin Kerr, with the recurrence of a toe injury, and flanker Kelly Brown (hand) are likely to miss training in the early part of this week.
Kerr is now in an immobilising boot but both players will be further assessed on Monday.
Dr Robson added that a number of other Scotland players had "bumps and bruises" to be expected after a game of Saturday's intensity, but none of their injuries was causing concern.
