England not only lost back-to-back matches against France earlier this month but failed to break down their robust defence, drilled by Yorkshireman Dave Ellis.

Last weekend Wales emerged from the misery of a record 62-5 defeat to the English at Twickenham with a determined victory over Argentina.

And Morgan is determined to lift the mood further with a repeat performance at the Millennium Stadium.

"The mood of the nation reflects how the rugby team is doing," said Morgan.

"Morale is good. We always have good team spirit in the Welsh camp.

"I am sure a lot of players were stung by the criticism after the England match but we stick together.

"France are a formidable side coming here on the back of two or three wins and, obviously, full of confidence.

"They have made a few changes from their last encounter with England so they are going to be a tough nut to crack."

But with Morgan's incisive runs from full-back and the elusive winger Shane Williams back in the side, Ellis expects Wales to be more difficult to contain than England.

Wales have averaged two tries a game against Les Bleus in their last three meetings - and managed to put three past them at the Stade de France in February.

"It is a good challenge for our attack," said Morgan.

"They have a strong defence, they have done for the last couple of years really. The only team that has managed to break them down has been the All Blacks.

"They contained England on both occasions, stopped England playing and just did enough to win.

"They have been impressive in both games even though I don't think they have hit full stride.

"I think every team has got weaknesses and we have got to look to exploit them."
