Newcastle welcome back England quartet Jonny Wilkinson, Toby Flood, Mathew Tait and Jamie Noon, yet poor Premiership away form suggests Gloucester could triumph with something to spare.
Ryan said: "We got the job done last weekend against Harlequins, but nothing more, and we need to be more clinical.
"Like us, Newcastle play the game in the right way. They have some wonderful players with ball in hand, and it should be a cracking encounter.
"You cannot fail to be impressed with the way they approach the game, and they will be very dangerous.
"We just need to get our game right, concentrate on what makes us tick and try to get the job done."
Flanker Jake Boer will captain Gloucester on his final Kingsholm appearance before returning to South Africa, having been handed the role by regular skipper Marco Bortolami.
Ryan added: "I think the gesture from Marco is a wonderful one towards a wonderful player in Gloucester's history.
"Marco has shown what a great individual he is, both on and off the field this season, and I think it is very fitting that a player of Jake's credibility within the game - and the obvious affection he has with Gloucester supporters - is honoured in this way.
"He has had a great career, he has been part of the club during a very successful period and is thoroughly deserving of his send-off."
Falcons flanker Ben Woods, whose try double against Worcester last Friday proved in vain as Warriors wiped out a 15-point deficit to win 23-21, expects a fierce examination from second-placed Gloucester.
Woods said: "Gloucester have a bit of everything, which is why they are so tough to play against.
"Their forwards can beat sides up when they need to, and at other times they have the speed and skill in the backs to unlock defences, which not a lot of teams possess.
"Winning last Friday would have all but made us safe, but that is over now and we just have to look ahead. There is nothing to be gained by 'what ifs'.
"Our fate is in our own hands still, and if it doesn't go right then we only have ourselves to blame.
"Kingsholm is a pretty intimidating place at the best of times, and especially given the run of form Gloucester are in at home, but we feel we are ready for the challenge."
