The Pumas meet the Barbarians on Saturday at Stade d'Aguilera in Biarritz, and Loffreda said: "In a very peculiar year because of the World Cup, this tour adds competition rhythm for Argentina.

"We will have the chance to see other players, as several of them were not present in the two matches played in England this month.

"There is a long time left to define the World Cup squad. I think there is 25 per cent that we still have to analyse."

Loffreda and his staff flew to France alongside the home-based players who were named in the squad - Federico Serra, Alberto Vernet Basualdo, Pablo Gomez Cora, Horacio Agulla, Nicolas Fernandez Miranda and Hernan Senillosa.

Despite the fact that the French Barbarians are not a nation, Loffreda said: "We consider this match a real Test match.
"Our rivals have players with international experience and the most of them play in the French national team."

Leinster fly-half Felipe Contepomi will not able to join the Pumas as his team refused to release him.

"Felipe's absence is something that affects us a lot because it does not let us work as we've planned," bemoaned the coach.
