But Robinson has visited a specialist this week, and has been was told that there was no serious damage to his knee.
He said: "I was relieved to be told the injury was not serious, although I was confident before seeing the specialist as the knee was not as sore as it was over the weekend."
Robinson will join up as planned with Clive Woodward's squad as they prepare for the Twickenham clash with Italy a week on Sunday, before returning to Zurich Premiership action with his club against Leeds on March 15.
"I am now looking forward to joining up with the England squad on Sunday and then returning to Heywood Road to prepare for our big game against Leeds Tykes," he added.
