The fans' dream player would comprise the leadership of Martin Johnson, the power of Willie John McBride, the dreamy pass of Gareth Edwards, lightning speed of Rory Underwood and Jason Robinson with the outstanding boot of Jonny Wilkinson.
Johnson, the only man to captain two Lions tours, was voted the greatest leader with 32%, ahead of current Lions tour manager Bill Beaumont on 24%.
McBride, the indomitable spirit of the 1974 Lions, was handsomely the most powerful player of the last 60 years with 42% of the vote, ahead of Johnson and then Dean Richards.
Edwards, the Cardiff scrum-half who played on the victorious Lions tours of 1971 in New Zealand and 1974 in South Africa, was considered to have had the greatest ability to pick the perfect pass.
Jeremy Guscott came closest to Edwards' 39% of the vote with 17%.
The quickest player poll ended in a photo finish between Rory Underwood and Jason Robinson - with both scoring 28% of the vote.
The biggest majority of all came in the vote for the Lions' greatest kicker with Jonny Wilkinson garnering 58% of the vote.
That Wilkinson won is perhaps not surprising, but the fact Neil Jenkins came second with just 9% is.
