Waratahs winger Lachlan Turner has won the race to replace the injured Lote Tuqiri for Saturday's meeting with France in Brisbane on Saturday night.
Turner, 21, will become the 826th Wallaby when he makes his Test debut as one of four changes to the Wallabies' starting line-up after Tuqiri succumbed to a knee injury.
Full-back Adam Ashley-Cooper and flanker Phil Waugh have been rewarded for their efforts off the bench during the 34-13 first Test victory against France and replace Cameron Shepherd and George Smith.
Skilful number eight Stephen Hoiles is the other new face, replacing Wycliff Palu who suffered a shoulder injury last weekend.
Coach Robbie Deans says Turner's call-up is well deserved after his recent performances for Australia A, including his two-try effort against Fiji on Sunday.
"Lachie (Turner) has been playing well for Australia A and working hard off the field when he has trained with us. We see this as a good opportunity to get his Test career underway," Deans said.
Deans said the decision to sideline Tuqiri and Palu was also straight forward as the Tri Nations series approaches.
"Initially the outlook was fairly promising on both of them," Deans said. "But, in the end, we've decided that it's not worth risking further aggravation of their current situations by playing them when they're not quite right.
"With Lote's history, in terms of the knee injury he's had previously, we felt it was best to let the joint settle right down, hence the reason for making the call to pull him out now, rather than delaying until later in the week.
"Even though the scans we've had done on Cliffy (Palu) have been clear in terms of any structural damage, he too was still struggling a little bit."
Of his decision to replace Shepherd and Smith in the staring side Deans said: "In both of these instances, the selection doesn't reflect a dissatisfaction at all with what Cameron and George have contributed.
"It is more a case of taking this opportunity to give two other players game time in our environment, as opposed to sending them elsewhere."
