Springbok stars Fourie du Preez and Bryan Habana grabbed two tries apiece, while Victor Matfield, Pierre Spies, Danie Rossouw and Wynand Olivier also crossed the opposition tryline.

Morne Steyn, who could start at outside-half for the Boks next month if Ruan Pienaar fails to recover from injury, had another impressive day with the boot, kicking five conversions, two penalties and a drop goal as the Bulls lived up to their tag of pre-match favourites.

The Chiefs managed two tries of their own and actually crossed for the game's opening score but they were no match for a powerful Bulls side who could conceivably contribute between five and nine players to the Springbok starting XV that faces the Lions in Durban on June 20.

Bulls skipper Matfield described the win as 'the best night of my life' as he experienced Super 14 success for the second time in three seasons.

"It was just awesome with all the support," said Matfield.

"It's been a great year and we're happy to finish it like this.

"I think it's just nice that we had the same plans throughout the year. That's one thing we believe in at the Bulls; we do the same things, we just try and do it better every week."
