Davies demands postive action
4 November 2005 15:54pm
Leeds director of rugby Phil Davies has demanded his players stop making positive noises off the pitch and start delivering results.
Davies' men renew Premiership hostilities against Sale - the competition's early pace-setters and a team they have never beaten.
But Davies is confident his side can cause an upset at Headingley.
"We are going through a process of building confidence and performances. We've been looking for the kind of performance we produced last weekend against Calvisano all season," he said.
"But now it's important we stop talking about good performances and start producing them consistently in the Premiership.
Sale boss Philippe Saint-Andre has lost nearly half a team to international duty but he still expects the Sharks to maintain their hundred percent record over their northern rivals.
"This is a big game for both teams. We have a good record against them and all my players are aware of what is required from them," said the Frenchman.
Gloucester coach Dean Ryan is delighted to have Jamie Forrester, Andy Hazell and Peter Richards back in the fold after the trio were discarded by England boss Andy Robinson
Hazell and Forrester feature in the back row while scrum-half Richards wins a place on the bench for the clash with Newcastle at Kingsholm.
"To have these three players back with us is a bonus. James and Andy are two of our form players and it's great to have them around," he said
Newcastle's James Grindal starts at scum-half for the Falcons as Hall Charlton is out injured.
Bath have lost Steve Borthwick, Danny Grewcock, Lee Mears, Matt Stevens and Olly Barkley to England for the showdown with London Irish.
'We have to make changes to accommodate for those call-ups, but this is something that we planned for at the beginning of the season," said Bath Head Coach John Connolly.
Northampton flanker Grant Seely makes his first competitive start of the season against Saracens following his successful recovery from knee surgery.
