"There are certain things I will not forget after that game. They made no disguise in rubbing in the fact they had beaten England," said Borthwick.
"That result at Murrayfield last year hurt me and it hurt every Englishman. They won fair and square and we were poor - it was a low point for me.
"We are all proud to be involved with English rugby and that wasn't a good day for English rugby.
"But after Sunday's game against France, we won and we were pleased with our game and I'd like to think we handled that win in a gracious manner.
"Not all of this squad was involved in the game last year - but I was. This is an old rivalry and I am desperate we get a win this weekend."
The Scots haven't won at Twickenham since 1983 and, after seeing Borthwick's men run in five tries in their 34-10 demolition job on the French, coach Frank Hadden knows his side are starring down the barrels of a loaded shot gun.
England may have been heavily criticised this season for the way they played against Italy, and their defeats to Wales and Ireland, but they are still the leading try scorers in the tournament with 13 from four games.
England manager Martin Johnson is due to name his team on Wednesday and has called-up London Wasps flanker Tom Rees as cover for the injured Joe Worsley. Gloucester's Olly Barkley has been drafted into the squad just in case Toby Flood doesn't make it and Ben Foden and Tim Payne have also been included.
