Lions Australia Tour 2013

British & Irish Lions prospect Gavin Henson has taken stock of Wales’ stunning Grand Slam success, and declared: "I should imagine we will be superstars and legends now."

The perma-tanned centre, with his silver boots and spiky hair, already enjoyed cult status in a nation crying out for new rugby heroes and with the Lions tour of New Zealand beckoning, Henson will be hoping for the chance to display his skills on an even bigger stage.

"I think we deserve this Six Nations title because, out of all the teams, I believe we played the best rugby," Henson declared.

"Most teams concentrate on defence, but we’ve concentrated on attack, and it has paid off for us.

"It will be difficult next season because we will be defending the Grand Slam and teams will be out to beat us.

"But winning this tournament is going to give us massive belief. I should imagine we are superstars and legends now, so it is going to be great.

"It was a great day and a great performance from everyone. We were never going to lose that game – it was meant for us, I think," added Henson.

"To win a Grand Slam at my age is just brilliant, and hopefully, there are better things to come. It is just amazing. My first Six Nations – and a Grand Slam.
