New Zealand coach Graham Henry would have had a nervous 24 hours after lock Chris Jack left the field injured during the Crusaders victory over the Sharks on Friday.

Jack is the only first-choice Test lock playing Super 12 rugby at the moment with Ali Williams still suspended and Keith Robinson and Norm Maxwell injured, with the first Test against the British & Irish Lions taking place on June 4.

But the 26-year-old Crusaders second rower suffered an injury to his thigh and was forced from the field after scoring his side’s second try in their 77-34 romp in Christchurch.

Thankfully for Henry, Crusaders doctor Deb Robinson said on Saturday Jack’s injury was just deep bruising and he should return to training in the latter stages of next week, meaning he could be available for the match against the Highlanders in Dunedin next Saturday.
