Lions Australia Tour 2013

Bay of Plenty’s hopes of having one of their favourite sons, Glen Jackson, back for next month’s opening match of the British & Irish Lions tour have been dashed.

Former Chiefs and BoP first five-eighths Jackson had been hoping to return from his English club Saracens but complications have arisen and he has had to make himself unavailable, reports the New Zealand Herald.

BoP coach Vern Cotter spoke to Jackson at the weekend and confirmed the 29-year-old would not be back.

The Lions’ match in Rotorua is on June 4.
