Scotland captain Jon Petrie looks certain to miss the autumn internationals after suffering a badly dislocated shoulder in Glasgow’s stormy defeat to Newport-Gwent.

Petrie was taken off late in the first-half after an exchange of punches with opposing prop Rhys Thomas.

He had the joint relocated under general anaesthetic at the Western Infirmary but Glasgow team doctor Gerry Haggerty feels he would be lucky to return to action this year.

"He will see an orthopaedic surgeon on Monday but we are probably looking at a minimum of three months out," he said.
