Lions Australia Tour 2013

British & Irish Lions prop Julian White will make his first Guinness Premiership start of the season when Leicester host Bath on Saturday.

According to the Rugby Football Union, White should not play a full game – classed as more than 40 minutes – until Saturday week.

But having already fielded club captain Martin Corry ahead of the RFU’s recommended 11-week rest schedule for English Lions, White now follows suit.

"It has been a gradual build-up for Julian, and all part of integrating him in. He played 20 minutes, then 40 minutes and now a full game," said Tigers head coach Pat Howard.

"We’ve tried to look after him, and we will probably give him a bit of a rest in a couple of weeks’ time, as Graham Rowntree should be back for the Leeds game (on September 25).

"Julian is in good nick, and I think he is looking forward to the game."

White’s return sees Alex Moreno switching from tighthead to loosehead prop instead of Michael Holford, while other changes following last weekend’s 29-29 draw with Wasps see starts for wing Austin Healey, lock Louis Deacon and flanker Will Johnson.
