France and Biarritz flanker Serge Betsen has been ruled out of Les Bleus’ autumn Test matches with a fractured left cheekbone.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury during his side’s 26-20 loss to Toulouse on Sunday evening and is expected to be sidelined for up to two months.

Betsen will now undergo surgery on the injury.

France kick-start their autumn series on November 5 against Australia in Marseille before taking on Canada, Tonga and South Africa.

National coach Bernard Laporte is expected to announce his squad on October 25.
