Ireland fly-half David Humphreys confirmed today he will assess his international future at the end of the RBS 6 Nations championship, refuting reports which suggest he has already decided to quit.

Humphreys, who has won 72 Test caps since making his debut in 1996, has been considering his international future for some time and spoke with Ireland head coach Eddie O’Sullivan last autumn.

But the 33-year-old insisted no decision has yet been made.
"Myself and Eddie O’Sullivan had discussed my future plans back in November and prior to the start of the championship. We agreed that we would talk again after the tournament," said Humphreys.

"Any decision will not be made until after the Six Nations."
Humphreys has been an unused replacement for Ireland’s win over Italy and the defeat in Paris last weekend.
