Italy will return to training on Sunday to begin their preparations for the RBS 6 Nations meeting with France in Paris next weekend.

After strong displays against both Ireland and England, there is much optimism around the Azzurri camp.

Italian general manager Marco Bollesan believes that if Italy can take advantage of Les Bleus’ mistakes, they may be able to sneak a victory on French soil.

"We must play the game of our lives," he said. "We must play something we’ve never been taught. We must wait until the right moment and then hurt them deep inside their own line.

"It will be important for us to defend at our best. Then if they become frustrated we must be able to go deeper and deeper, win yards, and get ready to take advantage of their mistakes.

"We know they are still aiming to win the tournament so they will be playing for real. But I’m confident about our boys. If in the first two games we impressed everybody, then things can happen in the third one. For sure we are going to Paris with high hopes and maybe more than that."

Italy have never won a match on foreign soil in the northern hemisphere’s premier tournament since joining the competition 2000.
