Worcester have terminated the contract of former England scrum-half Andy Gomarsall just one season into his three-year deal.

Gomarsall, 31, has been released after spending most of last season on the Worcester bench. It is understood a financial settlement with the Warriors is yet to be agreed.

The writing was on the wall for Gomarsall when Worcester signed Welsh international Ryan Powell from Cardiff to compete with first-choice scrum-half Matt Powell.

Gomarsall has been left to find a new club just two months before the start of the new season.
