Scotland international Hugo Southwell returns for Edinburgh Gunners in their opening Magners League game of the season against The Ospreys on Saturday.
The 26-year-old full-back was named on the bench for the pre-season friendly with Sale Sharks last weekend.
Scotland prop Allan Jacobsen also returns to the starting line-
up in place of Dave Hewett, while Craig Smith moves to the bench after a calf strain for the game at Liberty Stadium.
Edinburgh interim head coach Henry Edwards said: "Hugo missed our first warm-up match, but I can move him into the team with confidence in place of Ben Cairns who is injured.
"We just wanted a change in the front row and this is a great opportunity for Allan.
"We are in the best possible shape for the first league match, and are focussed on starting this season just like the last one, with a win away from home."
