Sale fly-half Lee Thomas has broken his arm and will be missing for 12 weeks.

Thomas sustained the injury during the defeat to Newcastle and underwent an operation on Wednesday to have a plate inserted in his forearm.

Regular number ten Charlie Hodgson has only recently resumed light training after lacerating a kidney.
