France flanker Julien Bonnaire is set to be at the centre of a bidding frenzy among leading Top 14 clubs this summer after announcing he wants to leave Bourgoin at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, who has been a regular for Les Bleus over the past two years, is disappointed at the lack of ambition at Bourgoin and intends to leave when his contract expires this summer.

And his declaration that he wants to continue playing in France will surely lead to offers by a number of top clubs in the country.

"I am 28 and if I have to leave, it is now or never," said Bonnaire, the current captain of Bourgoin, in an interview with Dauphine libere.

"I would have liked to finish my career at Bourgoin, but at the moment the club does not have a plan to speak of."

Bonnaire added he would prefer to join an "ambitious French team" as opposed to a foreign club.

Bonnaire is a consistent performer for France and was named in the 40-man RBS 6 Nations squad on Thursday.
